STUPs of the Week
The South American Junket Senators
CSW 07-01
In recognition of their relentless pursuit of stupidity and the subsequent procurement thereof, we award the South American Junket Senators the STUP Award.
Gerald Ford, the 38th President of the United States, died
Tuesday 12/26/06. However, senators Robert Bennett (R-UT),
Kent Conrad (D-ND), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Judd Gregg (R-NH), Harry Reid (D-NV), and Ken Salazar (D-CO) had a junket planned to South America. Senator Reid said the purpose of the trip was to better America's relations with our neighbors to the south and the trip would be "difficult to cancel." They left for fun in the sun on Wednesday, 12/27.
Some are asking, "Hey, CoffeeShop, what's the big deal?" Well, if it's no big deal, then why not stick around for the funeral and delay the tanning expedition for a few days?
**WARNING**
These are the men we've entrusted to run the most powerful country in the world and they determined that canceling or just delaying their junket was too "difficult" a task to accomplish.
God help us all.
