Secret Ballots - A Thing of the Past for Unions?
To repay the millions of dollars in union campaign money given to them, the democrats attempted to get a bill passed through congress that would have done away with secret ballot voting to unionize a workplace. This procedure is known as the "card-check" system and allows a union representative to hand an employee a card to sign, sans secrecy, to have the workplace unionized. The plan would bolster the union membership, say proponents, a membership which has been in drastic decline for years.
The union rep could even visit a worker's home with a high pressure sales pitch that would put condo time-share presentations to shame. The union, therefore, knows who has signed and who hasn't allowing numerous follow-up visits to "convince" employees to sign the card. Intimidation could and would have run rampant!
The democrats, the working man's party at its finest. What a joke!!
FYI - The democratic house passed the bill. The Republicans in the senate blocked it. Who was a prime sponsor of the bill? Senator Ed Kennedy (D-MA), that's who. The unions and the dems vow to keep this issue going. We, too, hope it keeps going, right down the sewer from whence it came.
The "Scooter" Libby Commutation
Good for "Scooter"" and good for Bush. Should have been a full pardon, however.
Biden's Bitter Bites or
The Callous Comments of a Congressman
The bad-mouth dems never fail to disappoint. The honors this time go again to Senator Joe Biden (D-DE).
Biden on Bush - While speaking in Des Moines, Biden once more referred to the President as "brain-dead." "This guy is brain dead," Biden said of Bush. "I know Ill be quoted, Ill be killed for that," he continued.
On the Scooter Libby commutation Biden said, "This is a guy [Bush] who is on the balls of his heels, heres a guy who is lower off in the polls than any president in modern history and he goes ahead and he does something that just flies in the face of the sensibilities of the American people."
Biden on Rudy Giuliani - "I can hardly wait to debate Rudy Giuliani if he is their nominee," he said. "Because I will eat his lunch."
Biden on Mitt Romney - "I found Romneys statements yesterday profound crazy when he talked about going to war with Iran, why are we talking about going to war with Iran?"
What were the "crazy" statements made by Romney?
According to a Des Moines Register article, Romney said he would consider using military force against Iran if attempts to isolate and pressure its current regime fail.
Romney, answering questions at a lunchtime campaign event, said the country's history of genocide and the threat of its potential nuclear arsenal merit a "possible military strike," after economic and diplomatic sanctions fail.
"I'm not going to shrink away" from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Romney told an audience of 65 at the Cass County Community Center. Ahmadinejad, Romney said, is "a dangerous man" and a threat to U.S. interests.
CSW asks Biden, "What is so crazy?" Biden's attitude is typical of the democrats' position on keeping America safe. Bottom line, they wouldn't.
STUP Carter At It Again
In Dublin, Ireland, Jimmy "STUP" Carter called the Bush administration's failure to recognize Hamas, a terrorist organization, as "criminal" and accuses the US, Israel and the European Union of seeking to divide the Palestinian people.
And the dems call President Bush "brain-dead."
Thank you ladies and gentlemen for your attention and have a good evening.
The bar is open.
How do you see it?
