The revised Texas flag pledge reads: "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible."
David and Shannon Croft filed suit in Texas to stop the reciting of the pledge because it has "God" in it. U.S. District Judge Ed Kinkeade denied their request.
The Crofts contend that their atheist children would be harmed by having to pledge to something with God in it. The school allowed the children to stand in the hallway while the national and state flag pledges were made and a moment of silence observed. The Crofts are also suing over the moment of silence which state law says provides children the option to "reflect, pray, meditate or engage in any other silent activity."
Do you think the Croft children may have been a little embarrassed? Thanks parents!
To the Crofts and other atheists attempting to waylay the wishes and rights of the majority, CSW says "Love Her or Leave Her" and we certainly have a preference about which choice you should make.
