And the people say .
A "Race" to the Finish
A rude awakening has hit America; a female, Hillary Clinton, and/or an African-American, Barack Hussein Obama, will, in all probability, be on the 2008 democratic presidential ballot. Not since the Orwellian year (that's 1984 for some of you) in which Geraldine Ferraro ran for vice-president partnered with Walter Mondale has gender come into play in a presidential contest.
Race, heretofore, has never been a serious issue, although reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton might disagree (so what's new).
Now race is a major player. Those of the politically correct mindset will swear race has nothing to do with their choice. "I vote for the best person. Let the best man (woman) win," they say. In exclusive interviews, a few have offered us their most private of political thoughts. Somewhere in the back of their minds they're wondering, "How prejudiced will a black person be when given all that power?" "How far can the pendulum swing in total favor of the minority?" "Will an order to pay reparations be a pen stroke away?" "Hmmmmmm, I'll see how I feel when I get behind the voting curtain."
We thank the interviewees for revealing those private concerns. What are your concerns, if any, with a female or an African-American as president?
Thank you ladies and gentlemen for your attention and have a good evening.
The bar is open.
How do you see it?
