And the people say…………….

And The People Didn't Even Get Kissed

The dates for presidential primaries are sacred for some reason and to think your state can skirt the date guidelines is perilous.

Michigan and Florida wanted to have a bigger say in the primary election which early voting can do. So, in defiance of the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and under the threat of disenfranchisement of all their voters, both states moved up the date for their constituents to vote.

The move angered the political bosses of both parties. To punish the states for their decision, the RNC said Michigan and Florida would be allotted only 50% of their normal number of delegates to the Republican national convention; the DNC denied 100% of their normal number of delegates from partaking in the democrat's convention. As you know, it's the number of delegates a candidate wins that determines who will be on the presidential ballot in November.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton acquiesced to the party bosses and agreed to the punitive rules and further agreed to not even visit Michigan and Florida to campaign. Obama went so far as to remove his name from the Michigan ballot. When the voting was done, Hillary won both states and, therefore, would have won the majority of the delegates.

Contrary to Hillary Clinton's prognostications, Obama became a formidable opponent and has pulled ahead of her in the crucial delegate count. Woe is me, what will she do? Hillary is in desperate need of delegates. Hmmmm! Didn't she win the Michigan and Florida primaries? Yes, but she agreed to the deal to not count those delegates. But, that was when she thought she was a shoo-in, a lock to win the nomination.

So what after-the-fact strategy should she use to garner the delegates? The strategy both candidates should have used when the political bosses suggested the moronic rule to disenfranchise the voters in the first place, that's what. Hillary wants the votes to count. Obama doesn't want them counted because he is ahead.

Both candidates should have screamed bloody murder initially because the idea to screw the voters was absolutely wrong! When they didn't seem critical to her, Hillary flipped the voters of Michigan and Florida off as did Barack H. Obama. Neither cared crap about the voters when there was nothing the voters had to offer them. Typical political bull crap. Hillary is now crying foul, unfair, disenfranchisement, backroom politics, and probably contending it is a right wing conspiracy.

There was an offer for the candidates to go back and campaign in the two states in question and have a do over vote at taxpayer's expense. Florida shot down the idea and it looks like Michigan will, too. CSW doesn't blame the states for refusing to foot the $15-30 million do over tab. If anyone should pay it is the party bosses for devising such a foolhardy plan. And the people didn't even get kissed.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen for your attention and have a good evening.

The bar is open.

How do you see it?
