West Virginia for Hillary!!

You talk about kickin' butt! Hillary demonstrated what that means by beating Obama 67% to 26% in the West Virginia primary Tuesday, 5/13/08. That gave Hillary additional impetus to keep on truckin' in her quest for the presidency. Members of her own party are calling for her to play like she's in a war and surrender. Hillary's like a good baseball player; nobody can get her out.

 

Illegal immigration, English as nation's language.

Illegal immigration isn't going to go away or even slow down because none of the candidates wants to take a firm stand on the subject and that includes McCain.

And on a related subject, there has been controversy about what language, if any, should be the United States official language. Here is what President Teddy Roosevelt said in that regard.

We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here does in good faith become an American and assimilates himself to us he shall be treated on an exact equality with every one else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed or birth-place or origin.

But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American and nothing but an American. If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn't doing his part as an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. . . We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room for but one soul loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American people.

Well said, Mr. President. It's too bad the PC, "I'll do anything for a vote" politicians of today won't heed your words. CSW wants English to be declared the official language of the U.S. If you're unwilling to learn English, don't bother coming here!!

 

Seriously, can they be that stupid?

The dem candidates still aren't convinced George Bush is leaving office. They continue to bash Bush at every turn. Every time they present an argument for what they would do if elected, they cut down President Bush. In answer to "What would you do" questions, the answers always are "this president's plans are not working." But, what would you do, sir/maam? "The presidents failed policies…" It's an easy way of knocking the president without having to present any ideas of their own.

In response to our title question, the answer is a resounding YES.
