A Convention Synopsis Sans Obama

Surprise, surprise, I'm going to talk about the dems from Michelle to Hillary to Biden to Bill.

At the DNC convention on Monday, 8/25, Michelle Obama told us about her parents and the hardships they endured putting her and her sister through college. She said she loves America (albeit just recently became proud of America); she loves her husband and daughters, and hopes you will vote for her husband, Barack. At the end of the speech Barack Obama appeared through remote video. One of his daughters had to remind daddy Obama which city he was speaking from. Barack Obama wasn't sure. Now, had that been McCain, the dems and late night comedians would have blamed it on a senior moment, a brain cramp, senility, or cerebral constipation. For Barack Obama, it was downplayed as being "so cute."

Well, there you have it, Michelle Obama's entire speech in seconds.

On Tuesday, 8/26, we heard from Hillary. I thought her speech was so so. Some pundits thought it was very good. She refrained from blaming the sunset on Bush although just about everything else was his fault. She tried to convince us that John McCain will give us four more years of George Bush which, of course, is B.S. And lest we forget, we were told how history was made by her candidacy and that women world wide will benefit and should be grateful for her cracking the glass ceiling.

Last night, Wednesday, 8/27, we heard from Hillary's hubby Bill Clinton and veep nominee Joe Biden.

Speaking of Biden, he was recruited by Obama to be an attack dog, a pit bull of sorts. It will be his job to blast President Bush and John McCain and paint them as jerks. Biden should have no problem carrying out his assignment. On several occasions he's called President Bush "brain dead" which shows a lot of class for a senator, all third.

After learning all I care to know about his family, kids, grandkids, mother, father, acquaintances ad nauseam, Biden got down to doing the dirty work of his majesty and slammed President Bush at every turn and linked John McCain to each and every perceived negative.

Letting Biden be the bad guy keeps the messianic reputation of Obama intact. But, what does Biden really think of Obama? Watch here - Biden

Preceding Biden on the stage of spin and deceit was former president Bill Clinton. The silver tongued devil never ceases to amaze us with his self adornment and boastful rhetoric regarding his presidential term of the 90's. However, there was no mention of the bombing of a Sudanese aspirin factory (oops), the bombing of the Yugoslavian Chinese embassy (oops), or his refusal to imprison Osama bin Laden (oops), all of which happened under the direction of Commander-in-Chief William Jefferson Clinton.

Nor did Clinton mention that his amazing economy was falling apart at the seams a year before he left office. The bubble of Utopia was bursting and it was President Bush who inherited the remnants of the phony Clinton economy and it is President Bush who is doing an outstanding job of keeping the economy from total collapse.

No, we heard nothing of the shortcomings of the Clinton administration nor did we expect to. But, the onslaught of negative talk and Bush hatred was getting a little silly as the evening drew to a close.

The best was yet to come. As manna from Heaven, who should descend upon the frenzied crowd but the messiah himself, Barack Hussein Obama. Unfortunately, the hall was too crowded and the delegates had no room to bow. Not to worry. Screams usually reserved for teen idols and rock stars aptly replaced the obeisance.

And as Obama worked the females in the crowd planting numerous kisses on unsuspecting admirers, I couldn't help but picture some brave lady lashing out with a "how dare you" exclamation and a well deserved slap across Obama's face. I had to chuckle at the thought.

Was I impressed by this syrupy show of ignorant bliss by the attendees? Nah! But, I find it sad that our country has succumbed to such blather.

How do you see it?
