The PERSPI Award

Senator Judd Gregg

CSW 09-04

After accepting the nomination just a week ago, Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) showed Obama a middle digit and announced Thursday 2/12/09 that he was saying adios to Obama's offer to become the next Commerce Secretary. Why did Gregg accept the nomination in the first place? For one thing he thought he would be the head of the U.S. Census. But just as Obama announced Gregg as his nominee, Obama, in a blatant and arrogant political move never before seen in U.S. history, moved a share of census responsibility to the White House thus usurping a majority of responsibility from the Commerce Department.

The second, albeit less understood, reason for Gregg's withdrawal was that Gregg could't support the dems "stimulus" bill. Gregg knew before he accepted the nomination that the bill was terribly flawed and fraught with wasteful spending. Therefore, CSW is perplexed as to why Gregg initially said "yes" to Obama.

In its typical biased fashion, the media sees Gregg's withdrawal as a Republican ploy to discredit Obama. Can you spell PARANOIA?

In any case, Gregg saw the errors of his ways and withdrew from being a part of this second rate, tax cheating, Obama administration. For that, Gregg is deserving of the PERSPI Award.
